| Mozambique
-- a country still battling the vestiges of colonialism and a
brutal internal war that lasted 17 years. Recent droughts and
floods have added to the woes of a people left with little in the
way of resources to rebuild their lives. Yet, in spite of this,
the people of Mozambique have continued to tackle their problems
head on. In this documentary the United Church’s partners tell
the story of their beloved country and its commitment to, against
all odds, shake the shackles of repression, globalization and
poverty.
Karen and Bill
Butt, members of Faith United Church in Woodstock, are United
Church of Canada overseas personnel from London Conference working
in Mozambique. They write a short letter every two weeks to share
some of their experiences with friends and colleagues in London
Conference and elsewhere. |
